Subject: 8-hour rotunda performance, Wednesday

CHARIOT OF THE GOD?

Wednesday, December 4th, 2000
 
Edward Luna performs his installation piece "Chariot of the God?" this
Wednesday from 9 AM - 5 PM in the Sullivant Hall rotunda. This
uninterrupted, 8-hour performance is a test of physical endurance, and the
culmination of a quarter's worth of work in Johannes Birringer's
Performance Art graduate seminar (Dance 691B). 

The installation asks viewers to consider connections between history,
time, and space as represented by the human body. The piece consists of a
reclining seat, plastic wrap, razor blade, turntable, string, and a small
collection of research materials the audience may investigate themselves.

The rotunda is located just North of the Sullivant Hall Theatre and is to
remain open to foot traffic throughout the performance.
